Therefore, the objective of this research was to analyze deposition and coverage in the upper, middle, and lower soybean canopy strata, and losses to the soil, at different times of day in applications with different drop-size classes. The experimental design was a randomized complete block, in a 3 × 2 factorial arrangement: three application times (9:00, 14:00, and 18:00) and two spray nozzles (AXI 110015 and AVI 110 015), totaling six treatments with three replications. Deposition and coverage were evaluated in three soybean canopy strata (upper, middle, and lower), as well as losses to the soil. Deposition and coverage from the upper to the middle and lower strata are decreasing, which makes controlling pest agents located in the lower parts of the crop difficult. The time of day at which the application is performed can be used as a technical strategy to improve control efficiency in crops with a high leaf area index. Coverage and deposition across the different plant strata are influenced by the spray nozzle selected and the drop-size class it produces.
