The application technology can be fundamental to help in the control of grasshopper, being one of the main pests during the rainy season. Thus, the objective of the present work was to analyze the deposit in the upper, lower and space strata between Vaquero® forage (Cynodon dactylon) with different classes of droplets and application rates. The experimental design was a randomized block design, with a factorial of 3 x 3, three classes of droplets (fine, medium and coarse) and three application rates (70, 100 and 150 L ha⁻¹), in a total of nine treatments with three replicates per treatment, totaling 27 experimental plots. The syrup was prepared immediately prior to application and consisted of water, Blue Brillant FD & C-1® 6 g L⁻¹ and Metarhizium anisopliae 0.5 kg ha⁻¹ dye marker. The factor class of drops, as well as the factor of application rate, interfered significantly (p < 0.05) in the deposit of all the strata collected, whereas when analyzed the interaction of these factors was significant (p < 0.05) only for the upper and lower strata. For the upper stratum, the average drop in the rates of 70 and 100 L ha⁻¹ and fine droplet 100 L ha⁻¹ provided the largest deposit. In the lower stratum the coarse drop in the rate of 70 L ha⁻¹ provided the largest deposit, while in those of 100 L ha⁻¹, there was no difference and in 150 L ha⁻¹ it was the mean largest drop. Meanwhile, between thick and medium droplets with rates of 70 and 100 L ha⁻¹, they provided the largest deposit. The results of the present work suggest that it is possible to work with the lowest application rate (70 L ha⁻¹) for the grass used, as well as the tips that produce thicker droplets promoted a greater deposit in the soil.
