    Efeito de diferentes espaçamentos e densidades de semeadura no cultivo do minimilho

    The baby corn is the name given to the female green ears of the corn plant harvested, before fertilization, being their cultivation is a profitable alternative to small farms. The objective of this study was to evaluate different distances (0,5; 0,6; 0,7; 0,8 and 0,9 m) between rows and seeding densities (13, 15, 17 plants per meter) of baby corn. The study was conducted at the Universidade Estadual do Norte do Paraná, Luiz Meneghel Campus, with a randomized block design in a 5 x 3 factorial scheme (spacing, density) with four repetitions. The experimental plots comprised five meters of length by six and a half meters of width. The chosen cultivation of hybrid corn was the AG1051. The evaluated characteristics of the crop were plant height, stem diameter, length of green ears with and without husk, diameter of green ears with and without husk, rate of green ears shape, number of green ears harvested per hectare and productivity. The stem diameter and the green ears decreased with the reduction of row spacing and the increase of plants per hectare. It did not present perfectly cylindrical shaped green ears in the field. The distances and densities did not affect the productivity.
